Having recently launched Boeing 747 freighter services to Europe, TNT is now looking to take on extra manpower and strengthen its integrated air and road networks in Asia.
"We have about 40 openings, including in sales, operations, customer service and process improvement," says Gillian Pang, TNT Hong Kong's director of human resources.
Specifically in the area of operations, the company is looking for high-calibre supervisors to support business growth. Candidates will be expected to lead a team and take responsibility for planning and monitoring operational activities at key locations.
Also needed are account managers to develop and maintain new and existing customer accounts. These recruits will have to understand the importance of good relationship management and be adept at providing solutions that exceed client expectations.
"We select people based on competencies and values," Pang says. "Being in the service industry and wanting to give each customer a great experience, we look for people with a customer-focused mindset. They must strive for continuous improvement, be proactive, take ownership, and be great team players. There is a specific set of skills and knowledge we look for in each position."
Apart from promotion within a department, there are also opportunities to transfer between divisions. Operating in more than 200 countries, TNT has a network that allows employees to advance their careers beyond Hong Kong.
