Jim Magats
Jim Magats is the senior vice president of Payments at PayPal. In this role, Jim leads the global merchant processing and payments products teams at PayPal, which also includes Braintree, Hyperwallet, GoPay and iZettle.
Jim has held various roles during his more than 16-year career at PayPal, including most recently as PayPal’s SVP of global Payment Product and Engineering, which focuses on availability, experience and scalability of how customers pay and receive money across PayPal. Jim has also worked in various capacities helping PayPal expand globally, including leading PayPal’s European payments team, based in Luxembourg, from 2010 to 2013.
Before PayPal, Jim worked at Ernst & Young Consulting and Arthur Andersen Audit helping issuers, retailers, and acquirers adopt to changing payments related technology, customer needs, and regulatory environments.
Jim received his MBA from Indiana University and his BS in Accounting from Villanova University. He currently lives in the SF Bay area, and enjoys watching all types of sports, especially those involving his two boys.
