To provide comprehensive services to commercial clients and government departments, SGS Hong Kong has increased recruitment in its technical divisions.
The one-stop provider of quality control and inspection services is looking to fill positions for section managers, chemists and technicians.
Those hired as section managers will be responsible for overseeing lab operations, allocating resources and manpower, and making sure quality requirements are met. Chemists will supervise teams, and take charge of testing projects.
Candidates must have the relevant academic qualifications and, for manager-level roles, should have knowledge of international testing standards and supervisory experience.
"This is a rapidly-changing industry and employees must be passionate about the profession," says Selina Li, assistant recruitment manager at SGS Hong Kong. "We are a big corporation and there are plenty of career development opportunities. We are looking for people who are willing to commit themselves to this industry."
There will be training programmes for new hires covering relevant technology and standards, instrument and systems operations, and management and presentation skills.
"Candidates must be well prepared before the interview," Li says. "They need to understand the nature of the job, the background of the company, and be clear about their own career direction. It is also essential that they are willing to learn and ready for change."
