CPA Australia has elected Ronald Yam FCPA (Aust.) as its divisional president for Greater China in 2014.
Yam has over 35 years’ experience in the accounting industry specialising in auditing, taxation and management consultancy in Asia, and is currently the Partner of RSM Nelson Wheeler.
In his role as the divisional president – Greater China of CPA Australia, Yam will lead the division’s members across the business, finance and accounting professions and to deliver on CPA Australia’s commitment to business leadership innovation and entrepreneurship.
“Hong Kong faces a challenging year ahead as it competes with the increasing competition from other Asian economies and tries to retain business, as well as talent. To successfully navigate these economic challenges, the business world requires innovative leadership, controlled risk, creative thinking and sound cost structure management,” said Yam. ”I look forward to working with my colleagues and CPA Australia in confronting those challenges and in equipping members with the experience and skills necessary to succeed.”
Yam has extensive experience in providing auditing and financial advisory services to clients in a wide range of industries. He has also served as the partner-in-charge on several Initial Public Offering exercises in Hong Kong and Singapore.
