The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (Astri) is looking for professionals due to its expansion of research and development projects.
There are more than 30 job openings, including for a PCB design engineer. There is also a vacancy for a senior engineer for wireless systems implementation. Applicants should have a master's degree or equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering, or computer science. Also required are at least four years' experience in embedded software work and a good understanding of TCP/IP network sockets and multithread programmes.
"In addition to a sound academic background and relevant industrial experience, we are also looking for applicants who are energetic and innovative," says Victor Wong Kwok-kit, Astri's manager for human resources.
"They should have strong analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. It is crucial to be a good team player, and have a passion for research and development."
New hires can broaden their expertise by attending seminars arranged by Astri and other organisations based in the Science Park. "We sponsor staff participation in training programmes, and give them opportunities to attend overseas symposiums," Wong says.
