HONG KONG: The Charted Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has named Erica as its market director of Hong Kong.
Chen has seven years’ management experience at the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), where she successfully led the organisation’s Hong Kong operations since 2009 and, prior to that, as head of ACCA Guangzhou office from 2006 to 2009, during which she helped spearhead its growth.
She has extensive experience working in Hong Kong, New Zealand, UK and mainland China, including a stint as deputy director at the British Council in South China.
Chen holds a master’s degree in applied educational leadership and management from the University of London and a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Guangzhou Foreign Languages University, now the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies.
CIMA, founded in 1919, is the world’s leading and largest professional body of management accountants, with more than 203,000 members and students operating in 173 countries, working at the heart of business. CIMA members and students work in industry, commerce, the public sector and not-for-profit organisations.
In early 2012, two of the world’s most prestigious accounting bodies – AICPA and CIMA – formed a joint-venture to establish the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation to elevate the profession of management accounting.
